Please download MEGAPACK V2.0, then update 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc in order. Once you have downloaded an update move the contents (not the folder itself!!!) of the update into you megapack folder (accepting any overwrite messages you get)

I can not stress enough - copy the CONTENTS into your base folder - DO NOT PLACE THE UPDATE FOLDER WHOLE INTO YOUR BASE FOLDER THIS WILL BRAKE YOUR MEGAPACK!

PLEASE READ THE ENCLOSED INSTRUCTIONS FOR FULL DETAILS. (I wrote them to be read)

The idea behind this Megapack is that everyone downloads it and it gives us a base to work from, over time with each release we will replace older/poor-quality images with newer/better ones as well as filling in the blanks along the way.

We have moved this to it's own thread as there are many questions that arise from it and want to keep it all together so as not to clutter the other threads.

NOTE Re: Torrents, if you have never used it before follow these instructions:

You will need a program - download and install THIS (uTorrent)

Then, once installed on your PC, click on the Megapack Torrent link. Scroll down the page and click "Download torrent", your PC will then ask you what program you want to open the file/torrent with, browse your PC and find uTorrent and click OK.

It will then start downloading the pack into uTorrent and the pack will be in your documents in a folder called File Share Downloads.

It will probably take a while to download depending on how many people are sharing it at the moment, so leave it going perhaps overnight....

Any probs, give me a shout.

Also why not download the "Small Faces Megapack" for the tiny preview images you get in game HERE

If the Megapack Zip file becomes corrupted during download try THIS to fix the problem

Sometimes you need to Re-install the game to get the Megapack to work properly or you may need to Extract SI's original images. To do so follow this video Tutorial HERE

In some rare cases Clearing The FM Cache can help fix other problems. Try that HERE

So to keep this in the basis of knowledge here.

Do you first download the megapack, and then apply the updates?

Also, do you need to update with ALL 3 update files. or does UPDATE 1.3 include data from UPDATE 1.2 and 1.3.

If it's made clearer here for visitors, it'll help with any "unsure" comments.

Also, I'll help with cutting. I'm not the best, but as I leave the rpoper cutting to you guys with the teams that you have an abundance of resources for, with the teams I do, I don't have much to work with anyway - I have done the only Welsh side so far in there, so will happily do lower style teams. Hong Kong / Wales etc.

I think we should create a group for this. SUSIE TEAM. Our pledge: to assign a picture to all people in the game!

Fair comment mate, I have added a paragraph about installing the packs, hopefully that's clearer.

I've just done most of the new TNS images on their site - lovely they are! And a load of my favorite Welsh players which will be included in update 1.4, but yeah, by all means go for the lower teams.

We could actually do with some very canny researchers to find (decent) images of players that are yet to be cut or that have been cut poorly. You could even then cut them out if you feel confident.

If that's your bag, contact mufckingud as he's got a massive file and will start dishing out either a folder with poor images that need replacing, or perhaps just a list. The other option is (once you've installed all packs above) simply play the game and any "Blanks" you spot make a note and see what you can do to fill it.

It's great playing the game at the moment, as there are now so many player images and it's also great fun finding a blank to add to the pile for the new updates...sad I know!

I think the beauty will be if they keep to this style for FM-X (Rather than FM10, they could go X. lol), this pack will stay the same and will get updated as people continue to do more pictures as we all know how picky people are with the damn "I want him in an Arsenal t-shirt, not PSG!!!" etc.

I think the plan going forward would be, continue updates, but then compile everything original and updates on a certain date. Say September the 1st as this would be after transfer deadline, and then release a new BASE megapack for 09/10 season. Keep updating until say February 1st 2010 then update the megapack from the 2nd transfer deadline with all updates inbetween.

This would save new people download 15+ updates and also keep the base megapack updated for the next season to continue.

Also, updates should be done 1.x until the 2nd MEGAPACK of 09/10 is realeased after January transfer window, as then they would be 2.x (2 indicating 2nd MP).

I hope u'll implement that. I was talking about this with FM players at my work and they all use this megapack too, and they said the idea would be easy as you'd only download the MP torrent twice a season and not get dogged back with sh*t loads of updates all the time to keep up to date if ur a new person or have a HDD crash.

Hi,

I am crap at cutting and have been using you guy's expertise recently to add to my game so would be more than happy to return the favour and try my hand at some "researching" for blanks in the game.

Currently playing an English LLM game so even after having downloaded the mega-pack today have many blanks.

Do you have lists you want attacked or is it a case of "fill the blanks" and where would you like the pictures/links sending too?

Let us know if i can be of help,

Lee

Agree with everything you say there. Also glad that lots of others are using the Megapack, we only get to hear from a small percentage of those people that actually download it.

The 1 point-something idea, was indeed to having a V2 Base to be released for next season and September does indeed sound like the most sense.

My only concern as the pack grows will be making the hard decisions over which images will be "accepted" into the pack as it not only needs to be new but also preferably of a higher quality to overwrite an existing one. But at the end of the day, it's up to the individual if they want a specific image they can always overwrite it themselves...

Cheers Lee, that would be great.... I'm not sure what the best way to attack this is, my feeling is for now do the same as rydeen and contact mufckingud for a list to work from. There were many poor cuts in the megapack and it might be best to get these cleared up first.

Then it's probably a case of taking the "Blanks" you find and providing you have found a decent source image, post the request (max 5 at a time) into the Individual Request Thread. Each time any of these are done they get added to the new update anyway.

Exactly.

I think the call should be down to a team if need be, as I said there is your dedicated self and many others 'regular' cutters, like Sneijder etc. But I think as you are doing so much, you do what YOU think is best. We can all trust ur judgement mate. I know I speak for many saying that.

Also, if people don't like it....

http://sortitoutsi.n...showtopic=32163

That's what that thread is for!!!!! (if it's not in the READ ME of the megapack, should maybe add that too for the moaning buggers! lol).

Yes it was me and RowRow whom created the torrent for the pack so everyone could get it and i have to say it has gone very well. all we need now is some people whom can help in researching to make sure every picture e have inside the pack is the best quality we can have.
